The UserTesting App for iOS allows you to view and take tests directly from your iOS devices. This article will help you get started with taking tests on your iPhone or iPad, and answer many common questions.

A. You have a version of iOS 12 or higher, 400MB of free space when you try to take a test, at least 20% battery life, and one of the following devices:
- iPad Air 1, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro, iPad 2017, iPad 2018
- iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4
- iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max
- iPod touch (sixth generation)
We strongly recommend that you connect to a Wi-Fi network when you upload your completed test, rather than relying on your cellular service. Wi-Fi is faster and more reliable.

Once you have installed the UserTesting App for iOS, you can sign in to your mobile dashboard to see what tests may be available. By default, your mobile dashboard will display all tests currently available for you to take on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap Menu to view Tests for Other Devices such as your computer.
If you are interested in a test for your computer or other mobile device, sign in to that device to view the test. If you're not interested, you can also decline tests that require a computer or other device from the All Tests view.
Q. I got a test on my computer dashboard that says I have to use the UserTesting App to take it. What does that mean?
A. These tests can only be taken on a mobile device with the UserTesting app. To take the test, install the app on your mobile device and log in. The test will display on your mobile dashboard.
A. First, make sure you're not covering the microphone on your device. This can make your audio muffled and block you from passing the microphone check. If you have checked to make sure you aren't covering your microphone and you are still unable to pass the microphone check, try uninstalling and reinstalling the UserTesting App for iOS. A. Tap the Task Button ( - ) to hide the task instructions so that you can view the customer's website.
When you need to the view task instructions again, tap the ( + ) button.
For some tests, you may need to switch to a different app. The instructions to do this will vary depending on your device. Switch between apps as you normally would if you were using your iOS device outside of a test environment.
A. Unfortunately, if the recorder is closed for any reason, there's no way to get back into that test. This applies if your device crashes, the recorder unexpectedly quits, you accidentally close the recorder, or you quit a test. However, you should be able to accept new tests without issues.
