Protecting your privacy is important to us. We're happy to share how we keep your information safe, so here are answers to some FAQS about our privacy practices and recommendations:
What is recorded?
Non-recorded tests
Some tests might not require you to use one of our recorders. In these cases, nothing from your test (including your screen and audio) will be recorded.
Recorded tests
When you use our desktop or mobile recorder, your microphone audio and device screen will be recorded while you give feedback. However, we don't access your files or monitor anything from your device.
Some tests also require sharing your webcam. After your test ends, our recorder will stop capturing and collecting any information.
Do I have to provide personal information?
You're never required to provide any personal information or purchase anything. You can always choose to opt out of any test. If you decide to quit a test, nothing you shared will be processed, and we won't receive a recording of your session.
If you're asked to provide personal information during a session (e.g., in order to test a checkout experience), we encourage you to use fake information as much as possible. For example, if you need to provide a mailing address, you could use the address of a city office or other site in your area.
You should never share sensitive, personally identifiable information, including credit card numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, financial account information, account passwords, social security numbers, or medical records.
How is my information used?
Your test recordings
Your feedback helps brands and organizations improve their products and services and is used only for research purposes.
Test recordings are encrypted and can't be viewed by the public. So when you finish a test, the recording is only available to the person who invited you to participate. However, they may review the session, highlight specific parts of your feedback, and share this with their teams to spark discussion, validate existing experiences, and brainstorm new ideas for their products.
Your contact information
The contact information you shared when starting your test is only used for communication purposes (e.g., the confirmation email you receive).
