What is being recorded?
Your microphone audio and device screen will be recorded while you give feedback. Some sessions will also require sharing your webcam. We stop recording and collecting any information after the session ends. We do not access your files or monitor anything from your device.
You were contacted to give feedback because a company is interested in learning more about how you use their products, as well as any challenges you may experience and preferences that have not been addressed. They are not assessing you in any way, and your feedback is used solely for research purposes. You can always choose to quit the session and nothing will be processed.
Do I have to provide personal information?
You are never required to provide any personal information or purchase anything when giving feedback. You can choose to participate or not participate any time you are sent an invitation.
If you are asked to provide personal information during a session (in order to test a checkout experience, for example), we encourage you to use dummy or fake information as much as possible. For example, if you are asked to provide a mailing address, you could use the address of a city office or other site in your area.
You should never share sensitive personally-identifiable information, including credit card numbers, drivers license numbers, passport numbers, financial account information, account passwords, social security numbers, or medical records.
How is your information used?
Following the completion of a session, a recording is made available to the person who drafted the task instructions and invited you to participate. They may review the session, highlight certain parts of the feedback that you provided, and share this with their teams to spark discussion, support new ideas, and also validate some ideas they may already have. Videos are stored in encrypted form and can’t be viewed by the public.
The contact information you provided when starting your test is only used for communication purposes, such as the confirmation email you receive.
