A Mobile Live Conversation is an opportunity to provide direct feedback to someone conducting research with a company. In most cases, you’ll speak to someone face-to-face via Zoom, a third-party video conferencing tool.
Scheduling a session
When you click or tap on the session link provided, you’ll be taken to a calendar with time slots you can choose from. Please take note of the amount of time required for the session before you select a time slot. Once you choose a time, click or tap “Provide Contact Information” at the bottom.
On the following screen, you’ll see the time and date you selected. You’ll also be asked to provide your name and email. This information is used to send you reminders about your reserved session. Once you enter your information, click or tap “Schedule Interview”.
You’ll see a confirmation screen with some tips on how to prepare for your upcoming interview.
You’ll also be sent a confirmation email with these details, including a calendar event that we strongly recommend adding to your personal calendar.
Before the day of your Mobile Live Conversation, make sure to download the Zoom app to your mobile device. You can do so in the App Store or Play Store.
Joining a session
On the day of your Live Conversation session, tap the blue “Join Interview” button from your reminder email (or join from your calendar invite) on your mobile device 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
iOS Only
If you’re joining on an iOS device, you’ll need to enable an additional permission in order to share your screen during the session. Follow the prompts to add the Screen Recording permission to your Control Center in Settings.
You’ll be taken to a browser page with the details of your session and a final “Join Interview” button. Please note that this button becomes active 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
The Zoom app will launch and you’ll automatically join the meeting.
iOS:
When prompted, select the audio option, “Call using Internet Audio” for best results.
Android:
When prompted, select the audio option, “Call Over Internet”, and allow Zoom to record audio.
During a session
If you are asked to turn on your camera during the session, tap the camera icon in the bottom left of the Zoom toolbar.
If you are asked to share your screen, tap the green Share icon in the middle of the Zoom toolbar. Select Screen from the list that appears to share your device screen.
Ending a session
When you’ve finished your session, tap the red “Leave” button in the top right of the Zoom toolbar. Your recorded session will automatically upload.
