Make sure you're ready to give feedback, by reviewing the minimum system requirements for the recorder. In this article, you can also learn how to allow the recorder to capture your screen and access your microphone and camera.
Minimum System Requirements:
Windows
- Operating system: Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11
- Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Edge (current version and previous version)
- Upload speed: A least 3.0 Mbps (5.0 Mbps recommended)
- Maximum screen resolution: 1920x1080
- Screen ratio: 16:9
Mac
- Operating system: OS X 10.15 or higher
- Browser:
- Chrome, Firefox, Edge (current version and previous version)
- Safari: Version 14.0-15.3 only
We're currently unable to support Safari 15.4. - Upload speed: At least 3.0 Mbps (5.0 Mbps recommended)
- Maximum screen resolution: 1920x1080
- Screen ratio: 16:9
Unfortunately, we don't currently support Chromebooks. To get started, try another device that meets the requirements above.
Setup instructions
To set up the desktop recorder, watch this video or follow the instructions below:
The Quick setup screens will guide you through the process of turning on the required permissions:
1. On this screen, click Share access.
2. Click Allow to grant the recorder access to your computer's microphone and camera.
3. On the next page you’ll need to select the screen you’d like to share. Make sure you’re viewing the screen options under the tab titled, "Your Entire Screen." Then click the image of your screen. Once you’ve selected your screen, click Share.
4. Review the screen you selected in the previous step. Confirm your selection is correct and that you can see the entire screen.
If you’ve selected the wrong screen or realize you can’t see your entire screen, click Reset sharing. Otherwise, click Next.
5. (OPTIONAL) If a customer invites you to complete a Face Recording test, you’ll need to set up your camera. Use the drop-down menu to select your input device (such as your built-in webcam or an external webcam).
6. Complete the microphone check by reading the sentence out loud. This will ensure we can hear your feedback loudly and clearly. If you’re using an external microphone, make sure it’s plugged in to avoid any errors.
7. Click Next to finish the recorder setup. Following setup, you'll see screens to guide you through “How to give feedback via computer.”
